The Apocalypse is Now and Clark isn't Christ
Confession time. I love my job but I am not passionate about what I do. What I do for a living is not my passion, and I honestly think that is a good thing. I know that most of us (and by “us” I mean Generation X) heard growing up that if you find a career that you a passionate about, then you’ll never work a day in your life. Now having spent nearly 30 years in the workforce I feel pretty confident in saying that this idea is complete and utter nonsense. This is not to say that being passionate about your work, job, or career is bad, quite the opposite, but it is not necessary. In fact, I would argue that having a passion that is not related to your career is healthy. But then again, what do I know?
Apocalypse Now
I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees it.
Superman Isn’t Jesus
I planned on writing something to go along with this video but it would be kind of redundant.

One Band, 5 Songs
Hailing from Athens, GA, and forming in 1980, R.E.M. was one of the most important bands in the college rock scene of the 1980s and the alternative rock explosion of the early to mid-1990s. The band called it a day in 2011 after releasing 15 full-length studio albums, of which six have been certified Gold by the RIAA and six certified Platinum. R.E.M. was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007 and was easily one of the best American rock 'n' roll bands of the last 50 years.
Speaking Of…
Here are the results of last week’s poll —
Weezer won the actual poll on Twitter, but I like to also count comments that I might receive on other platforms, making the winner Berkley, CA’s Tilt!
I’m also working on an idea for another show that would be part of the One Band, 5 Songs feed but would focus on cover songs called Better Than The Original. To give you an idea of the vibe, if One Band, 5 Songs is my attempt to do Bandsplain, then Better Than The Original is my attempt to channel 60 Songs That Explain The ‘90s. Hopefully, it won’t suck.
I’m Out…
The fall semester starts Monday. Ugh. I’m not ready. Be safe out there.
